Crama Ceptura - A Vineyard with 14 Days of Extra Sunshine

07/01/2019

Crama Ceptura is a winery and vineyard located at Dealu Mari Wine Region, Romania

Crama Ceptura is located in the heart of Dealu Mare wine region in Romania, where the sun shines for 14 days longer than anywhere else. It is a place where grapes have 14 more days to acquire a distinct taste. A place where the land enjoys 14 more days to offer a richer crop and the wine has 14 extra days to fulfil its charming and special flavour.

Crama Ceptura was started in the year 2005. Today, after 10 years of experience, Crama Ceptura has a production capacity of about 10 million bottles per year, a wine production volume of 10,000 tons of grapes per season, a storage capacity of around 6 million litres of wine, all served by sophisticated state-of-the-art technological equipment.

All these to make sure that at every point of the process, from the harvesting of crops up to wine bottling and distribution, they take maximum advantage of the 14 extra days of sunshine that nature generously offers them. For more than 10 years, the remarkable qualities of the wine produced by Crama Ceptura have been appreciated not only by Romanian consumers but also by the foreign lovers of this noble liquor. Since 2005, right from the heart of Dealu Mare vineyard, their experts’ best varieties have set out and reached wine lovers’ glasses all around the world: Feteasca Regala, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Feteasca Neagra, Merlot, Syrah, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot Noir.

Only here, in the commune of Ceptura, the sun generously bathes the land and the vineyards 14 days longer every year, making this region ideal for growing noble grape varieties, similar to those found in the finest French wineries in the world, such as Bordeaux. Climate conditions and soil composition give the Crama Ceptura crops a great quality that is almost impossible to achieve in other areas of the country. Given the advantages offered by the natural conditions of the land and the longer period of sunlight, they are growing a large variety of European grapes, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Italian Riesling, Muscat Ottonel or Fetească Neagră (Black Maiden).

It is located at an altitude of 160 m, Crama Ceptura vineyards collect all the sunshine nature has to offer to the privileged region of Dealu Mare. Their vineyards have an optimal southern exposure, and their grapes enjoy all the light offered by the 14 extra-days of sunshine. This has perhaps inspired the legend of the stag. Tempted by the warmth of this area, the stag, also called the king of the forest, often descends to Crama Ceptura vineyards. It is one more sign that their wine has fulfilled its noble taste and is ready to be savoured, together with all the blessing of the sunshine found in every Crama Ceptura bottle for more than 10 years.
