In the upcoming 8th edition of the USA Trade Tasting (USATT) set to dazzle the dynamic city of Chicago, we are thrilled to spotlight one of our esteemed speaker, Rachel Driver Speckan.

As the Portfolio Manager at Maverick Beverage Company of Illinois, Rachel brings a wealth of experience and passion for the beverage industry. Maverick Beverage Company, renowned for its hospitality-driven approach and an inclusive portfolio of wines, spirits, sake, and more, has significantly impacted the Chicagoland area and beyond since its inception in 2002.

Rachel's credentials are as impressive as her dedication to the craft. An Advanced Sommelier in the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) and a candidate for the Master Sommelier Exam, her commitment to perpetual learning is evident. Further bolstered by a WSET Level III certification, Rachel embodies the spirit of a lifelong student of wine, eager to expand her knowledge and share her discoveries with others.

Her academic background, with a Master of Arts degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas, enriches her approach to the wine and spirits industry. This unique perspective allows her to delve into the cultural significance of fermented beverages, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation among fellow enthusiasts.

Rachel's dedication extends beyond her professional role, as she actively engages in teaching, mentoring, and sharing her expertise. Whether it's leading WSET courses, Master Classes with Fine Vintage, or informal sessions at local wine shops, her enthusiasm for education and community engagement shines through.
