We had the opportunity to talk with Don Ferguson, Founder of Anteel Tequila. Anteel Tequila, known for its award-winning ultra-premium tequila, will be an exhibitor at the USA Trade Tasting 2025. With its innovative blends and smooth flavor profiles, Anteel continues to redefine the tequila experience.

About Anteel Tequila

Anteel Tequila, founded by Don and Nayana Ferguson in 2016, is a premium tequila brand that began with a vision during a trip to the Dominican Republic. Known for its innovative, all-natural flavors and commitment to quality, the brand has expanded into 12 markets and won over 117 awards since its launch.

The Journey

Anteel Tequila was born in 2016 in the Dominican Republic when a surprise birthday party turned into a marriage proposal for founders Don and Nayana Ferguson. On that trip, celebrating both a birthday and engagement, the couple talked about future life plans, where talks of creating a tequila brand first arose. Amid those discussions, the couple saw bright colored, small birds hovering overhead. They were Antillean Crested Hummingbirds, and this is where the name Anteel eventually came from. 

After committing fully to their dream in 2017, they navigated personal challenges and leveraged their business expertise to launch a multi-award-winning tequila company that has now expanded into 12 markets.

Health-Conscious Craftsmanship

Nayana, a pancreatic cancer and breast cancer survivor, emphasized the creation of traditional and infused expressions without added sugars or sweeteners. The brand’s standout offerings include the world’s only Coconut Lime Blanco, a Reposado aged in charred Tennessee whiskey barrels, and a limited-edition Tarocco Blood Orange Blanco. In December 2024, they expanded their portfolio with an Anejo expression, aged 15-17 months in toasted and charred whiskey barrels, further showcasing their dedication to quality and innovation.

Anteel Tequila aims to disrupt the industry by offering a distinctive lineup of tequilas that sets them apart from the competition.
