Elevating Craft Spirits: The Story of Idlewild Spirits

10/05/2024

Crafting Authenticity from Grain to Glass in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains

In a world of mass-produced spirits and beverages where quality and attention to detail are often lost, Idlewild Spirits was founded in 2015 by Master Distiller, Jeff Ruhle, with a vision to offer the highest level of locally sourced and produced premium craft spirits and cocktails. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Idlewild meticulously sources unique Colorado grain varietals, ensuring every step of the process is crafted with care and authenticity.

At 8,787 ft in the Rocky Mountains, water boils at 196°, allowing for a gentle simmer in Idlewild's stills that brings out the subtleties of the single-sourced Colorado grains. Aging at this altitude results in a higher than average “Angel Share,” condensing the unique expressions of the local grains. From Bourbon and Rye to Single Malt Whiskeys and New American Gins, Idlewild Spirits offers a premium range of small-batch spirits that stand out for their innovative distillation techniques and dedication to quality.

Idlewild's USP lies in its meticulous control of every step of the process, from sourcing sustainably grown raw ingredients to crafting each batch with care and attention to detail. By focusing on the best locally sourced grains and innovative distillation techniques, Idlewild Spirits produces spirits that authentically reflect the essence of the Rocky Mountains and the ethos of the brand.
