Robert Bradshaw is the President & Chief Operating Officer of Cape Classics, the premier importer of South African wine to the United States.
Prior to joining Cape Classics as COO in January of 2009, Bradshaw was the National Wine & Beer Buyer for Trader Joe's since 2002, responsible for expanding their business with wineries, breweries and multinational beverage alcohol companies across five continents. He holds a Certified Sommelier level from the Court of Master Sommeliers, and earned an MBA from Suffolk University's Sawyer School of Management.
Cape Classics was established by Andre Shearer in 1992, with a mission of bringing the crème de la crème of South Africa's then-fledgling wine industry to the American market. Today Cape Classics proudly represents 21 of South Africa's finest estates and labels. With a focus solely on South African wine, the company remains committed to providing a unique range of selections that are exciting and delicious and that offer outstanding value. Nearly 25% of all bottled wine from South Africa available in the US bears the Cape Classics seal.
In addition to receiving the "Best Wine Importer" accolade in Food & Wine magazine's Wine Awards, Cape Classics was the focus of a 'Spotlight On' feature in Robert Parker Jr.'s The Wine Advocate, and has been hailed a "Name You Can Trust"/"Reliable Importer" in Food & Wine's annual Wine Guide for ten consecutive years.
