Wine
The LAHOFER winery is one of the largest wine growers in the Czech Republic. It manages 430 ha of vineyards on the border with Austria in the vicinity of the 49th parallel, which intersects such wine-growing regions as the worldfamous Champagne and Alsace. Due to the rotation of hot days and cooler nights, the vine ripens slowly, and thanks to this, it produces wonderful aromatic wines. LAHOFER is based on a century-old wine-making tradition in Znojmo, developer through the most modern wine-making practices and technologies, and produces wines of practically all major Central European varieties. The white varieties are represented by Riesling, Frühroter Veltliner, Sauvignon, Traminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Müller Thurgau, from red Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch, Zweigeltrebe, Saint Laurent and Dornfelder. The winery’s capacity is 1.5 million litres per year. LAHOFER is about to open a new, architecturally exceptional wine cellar with an outdoor amphitheatre in summer 2019. The LAHOFER winery participates in a number of major exhibitions and regularly gathers awards. Among the most prestigious are the Great Gold Medal of San Francisco IWC in the USA, a number of gold and silver medals from the wine exhibitions, such as AWC Vienna in Austria, Le Mondial du Rosé in Cannes, France, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Decanter World Wine Awards in London or the Czech National Wine Salon of the Czech Republic.
