Built in the 19th century in the Cognac region, the ancient grain mill of Pinthiers, with its authentic paddle wheel, became the family distillery in 1923. Well hidden amongst the greenery and set upon a small island, the old limestone building, which is surrounded by lime and willow trees, is bordered by two arms of the River Seugne, which flows down into the River Charente. It is an outstanding distillery, hidden on its own island! Over the years, Emile PERRIER meticulously elaborated original liquors and crème de fruits which were renown throughout the region. The Distillery was called Distillerie Perrier and since then, it had been a little forgotten… In the nineteen eighties, the distillery was inherited by Jean-Michel Naud, a trained oenologist and passionate explorer of wines and spirits…and he truly rediscovered. Inside the building, the five well preserved traditional Charentais alembics, of 2 500 liters each, are starting a new life. For the last century, five generations of passionate and bold Master Distillers have worked in the Distillery and the last ones in place are even a little rebellious. They are the brave pioneers of a new vision of spirits. They are going to reignite the alembics to craft Cognacs which will be proud of their origins, and also offer a range of original and charming/delicious spirits which will be known of / recognized by lovers of authenticity…as discreet as the Distillery Famille Naud – Master Distillers since 1923 – invites you to share their Art of Distillation by revealing Treasures which have been kept secret for so long.
