Finca la Emperatriz, is an historic vineyard in Baños de Rioja that belonged to the last Empress of France, Eugenia de Montijo. The wife of Napoleon III - architect of the classification of Bordeaux in Crus-, made wines on this vineyard in the S.XIX, the quality of which was already recognized in the wine competition of the World Exhibition of 1878. In 1996 the family Hernáiz acquired this impressive vineyard and began his own path marked by respect for the countryside, tradition and artisanal work, with the firm purpose of making sublime wines. In 2017 the horizon was expanded with new wines from other vineyards located in other towns of Rioja, and thus a new era was opened. Viñedos Hermanos Hernáiz was born, a firm to host all the elaborations of quality wines of the Hernáiz family in Rioja Alta.
