Having obtained his National Diploma for Oenology, Jeff Carrel decided to go on a tour around France, vinifying in the Loire, Alsace and finally Languedoc region where he took up a role as Technical Director for a Bordeaux wine merchant, before taking complete charge of the domaine. Today he works mainly in Languedoc Roussillon but also in Bordeaux, Beaujolais and Burgundy. He develops original ranges of wine, with original labels and affordable prices: simple wines but not simplistic. Each wine has its own universe and its own story to tell. Making wines with a strong identity, with societal and environmental values, technical precision and personality, all the way from the vines to the bottle. MAISON CARREL is a building in the middle of the village Saint- Laurent de la Cabrerisse in the Corbières region, on the wine route “20vin”, between the sea and the mountains, between cellar and vineyards; a place full of wine history typical to the village’s way of life, with a winery dating back to 1857. A place where we can mature and blend our wines in optimal conditions, that suit us and our way of doing things, with the equipment, tanks, barrels and “foudres” we have specially selected. A pleasant place where we can welcome partners. A place where we can bottle our wines. A place to taste them in comfort. A place designed with the concern for sustainable development: insulated and without air conditioning, with a system that allows water to be saved. LE CUVIER In Fabrezan, the next village along from Maison Carrel, is the Cuvier Carrel. It dates back to the last century and the previous owners had already dedicated it to the vinification and maturing of organic wines. It allows us to create our organic wine range in a place especially dedicated to them. LA RÉSERVE La Réserve is also located in Saint-Laurent de la Cabrerisse, a place that allows us to expand our breeding and refining capacities in optimal conditions. Our job requires know-how, knowledge of the territory and technical mastery: monitoring the vines, harvesting, vinification, maturing, packaging and logistics. Winegrowers are valuable partners with whom we always consult to find the most environmentally friendly solutions. Creator of numerous wines, present on every continent thanks to a network of wine specialists, Jeff Carrel can now also rely on the different tools at his disposition thanks to the creation of Maison Carrel and Cuvier Carrel.
