CASCINA PIAN D'OR AZ.AGRICOLA
Cascina Pian d\'Or is a family business specialized in the production of Moscato d\'Asti DOCG Bricco Riella and Serena Red Sweet
Wine
The vineyards of CASCINA PIAN D’OR farming company extend over 20 hectares in the village of Mango, in an old hamlet between Langhe and Monferrato, in Piedmont. The peculiar climate characteristics have made of this area one of the most famous for the cultivation of Moscato grapes. The passion of Barbero family for vineyard growing is an ancient one and dates back to the distant past: a passion that has been handed on from generation to generation since the great-grandfather Giovanni started planting the first vineyards. Father Giuseppe continued the activity but the turning point for future developments was in the 80s when Valter, with passion and perseverance, decided to vinify and bottle with his own label. His need and ability to constantly improve have guided Valter with constant commitment along the way to excellence, thus carrying out his familiar tradition with unaltered enthusiasm but, as it should be, casting a glance at the future. The cellar construction and its constant improvements and enlargements in order to rationalize all production steps, from vineyard to the bottle, are still being carried out today. Our aim is producing a unique wine to enable others to appreciate in their glass the freshness and sweetness of Moscato grapes. Since the 80s Cascina Pian d’Or has become an important reality in the wine industry, continuing a constant quality oriented philosophy, increasingly gaining market shares and being awarded with prestigious national and international awards, as proved by the fact that we have been listed for many years in the major guides of the industry: Yearbook of the best Italian Wines by Luca Maroni, Wines by Veronelli, Bibenda . An enormous satisfaction was given us by our top wine Moscato d’Asti docg Bricco Riella, which was awarded with a silver medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2013, a prestigious worldwide wine competition where it conquered the palate of journalists, sommeliers, opinion leaders and critics from all over the world who were judging the wines according to their origins, their diversity and consequent uniqueness and their quality-price ratio. We are really proud of these awards but it wouldn’t be the same if there weren’t the testimonies of all those, Italians and foreigners, who come and visit us, who taste our wines, who listen to our story and choose us every day.
