Located in Balcarce, Bodega Puerta del Abra begun in 2013 with the intention to defy the status quo in Argentina´s winemaking tradition, producing limited batches of high-end wines, exploring the unknown and moving away from the classic wine growing regions of the country. The presence of limestone, oceanic influence, and particular climate, present the conditions for the development of exceptional products of unrivaled quality. The terroir discovered and developed is so unique, that Bodega Puerta del Abra successfully led the recognition of Balcarce as a new wine GI of Argentina. The grapes chosen to be produced represent another challenge embraced: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Bonarda, Tannat, Riesling, Albariño and Chardonnay. These grapes were selected given that they exhibit the highest of qualities in the terroir.
